How it works

Small habits build the stress you don't notice.

You feel the stiff neck at four in the afternoon, not the hour of leaning in that caused it. Poxture catches those small habits while they're happening, with a nudge so light you can ignore it, so you can sit back before they turn into aches.

You are the baseline

It learns how you sit and compares you with your own normal, not a textbook posture.

Looks, then forgets

Each frame is read in memory and dropped. No pictures, ever.

Patterns, not moments

A glance down never counts. Only a habit that holds gets a nudge.

A nudge, not an alarm

A thin line at the top of your screen. No pop-ups, no streaks, no scores.

Quiet when it should be

Silent in calls if you choose, after hours and when you step away.

Why Poxture exists

Catch it early, not after it hurts.

I've worked on laptops for 21 years. More than once, the small habits caught up with me: a stiff neck, tight shoulders, a jaw I didn't know I was holding. Each time I only noticed when it already hurt, and by then fixing it meant big changes to how I worked and lived.

It's easier to catch a habit while it's small than to undo it years later. Poxture is the gentle nudge I wish I'd had all along.

Shyam Verma, founder

Our commitment: Poxture stays gentle, private and quiet. It nudges, never nags, and no picture of you ever leaves your Mac. Every new check we add keeps those promises.

A typical few minutes

It waits for a habit to hold.

By default Poxture checks once a minute. A habit has to show up three checks in a row, about three minutes, before you see anything.

Hover for the fix

Hover the nudge to see what's off and how to fix it, in one line.

A chime if you miss it

If the nudge is still there after 30 seconds, by default it chimes once.

Gone when you are fine

It goes away at the next good check, and within three checks once the habit stops. Got it wrong? Click Wrong.

What it watches

The habits behind the tension.

All five checks are on by default. Each one is a switch in the app you can turn off, and new checks join this list as they are ready.

On by default

Leaning in

Closer to the screen than you usually sit.

On by default

Head down

Your head tipped 25° past your normal, by default.

On by default

Hand at chin

Resting your chin or jaw on your hand.

Beta, on by default

Slump

Lower and closer to the screen at the same time.

Beta, on by default

Not moving

Sitting in the same position for 40 minutes, by default.

The nudge

Hard to miss. Easy to ignore.

The nudge takes the shape that fits your screen, and never covers what you're working on.

Around the notch

A thin orange line glides along the notch's edge.

Under the menu bar

On a screen with no notch, the same line, straight.

In full screen

A small figure pulses in the top-right corner.

Out of your way

Quiet when it should be.

On a call (if you choose)When another app is using your mic or camera.
After hoursOutside your work hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 19:00, by default.
Locked or asleepNothing is checked.
AwayWhen you step away from your desk.
PausedFor 30 minutes, an hour or until tomorrow. The camera turns off.

The camera is off whenever Poxture isn't watching: when you pause, outside your work hours, during calls if you choose, and when the Mac is locked. While Poxture is watching, the camera comes on for a moment at each check and while a nudge is showing. While you're away it stays off, apart from a quick look every 5 minutes.
